A budding industry is proposing its second location in Coral Springs.
The city commission will vote Wednesday on whether Trulieve, Inc. can open a medical marijuana dispensary with conditional use approval.
The new location would be at 10400 W. Atlantic Boulevard in Cypress Wood Plaza, located in the northeastern building, according to city documents.
The city land development code requires a conditional use approval for medical cannabis dispensaries in specific locations. This is because the site is not in a plaza with a large retail store, and officials have to make sure there are no negative impacts on surrounding properties, according to the city.
If approved, Trulieve would have to follow several conditions: a 24/7 security system and cameras, adequately sized waiting room, advanced burglar alarm system, private consultation area, sufficient outside lighting, and no exterior walk-up window, and an agreement with Coral Springs Police to enter its trespass program, s, according to the city.
The facility will have several different security measures, including an electronic access control system on its doors. Patients must have uniformed employees escort them to the dispensary floor, two ID checks, and a doctor’s recommendation to purchase products.
