A Pawleys Island man told police his shotgun was stolen while he was away at college. He said he last saw the shotgun in early September on a table in his upstairs bedroom. He said only a few people would have had access to his bedroom in his parents’ house, but he did not want to falsely accuse anyone. He said his parents didn’t know the gun was stolen and that they said they didn’t sell it.
What’s that smell?
A deputy was patrolling in the southern section of the county when he smelled marijuana. As he got closer to the car in front of him, the smell became stronger. He pulled the car over. While talking with the driver and passenger the officer noted the odor was very strong inside the car. The officer asked if there was a gun in the car, and the driver said there was one between his seat cushion and the center console. Other officers arrived and the two men were detained. The deputy searched the car and found a 9mm pistol.
