CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) — As Charleston Police continue to address quality of life issues in the city, the hybrid unit is announcing the results of another undercover sting.
On Thursday, CPD announced that they conducted an undercover sting in the Smith Street/Capitol Market area.
According to police, the hybrid unit had received multiple complaints from the market about trespassing, drug use in the bathrooms and theft from the market.
Patrol officers say they had also received complaints about homeless people harassing children for money when they got off the school bus in the area.
On Thursday, the unit made 10 total arrests. Some of them from old warrants and two new charges were issued for littering and simple possession of marijuana.
