CHESTER, S.C. — Deputies busting an indoor marijuana greenhouse in Chester County say they also found a cockfighting operation.
Investigators told media outlets that deputies serving warrants last week found the 200 chickens and an elaborate setup to fight the animals along with the operation to grow marijuana. They did not reveal the exact location of the bust.
Authorities say the bust then led them to a storage unit in York County where deputies found 20 pounds of harvested marijuana.
Five people face drug charges after the bust.
Deputies say they are caring for the chickens at the home because there is not enough room to keep them all at the sheriff’s office or another location.
