HUNTINGTON – The holiday season is a time meant to be spent with family and loved ones, reminiscing on the year past and looking forward to the future. For those who found recovery this year, that future is looking bright.
Jason, a 27-year-old Louisville, Kentucky, native, was not allowed on his family’s property last Christmas.
“It was active addiction – what we call the madness,” he said in a phone interview from Recovery Point of Huntington. “I was late for a gathering at my grandma’s house. The next day I was super late for something at my brother’s. The only thing that mattered was to get one more. I was waiting in the west end of Louisville, stranded, waiting for the dude to show up. My family didn’t matter.”
For Huntington native Jessica Ball, she can’t really remember the past several Christmases.
“I was always high,” the 26-year-old said in a phone interview from HER Place in Charleston.
