Janel Ralph of Myrtle Beach recently scored two firsts with her Conway-area based business that offers cannabidiol (CBD) hemp products for health purposes.
In addition to being selected as the only Horry County farmer to take part in a research project to be conducted by the S.C. Department of Agriculture, she is the first person to run a national advertisement for her products.
“The next natural step for any company would be to have a commercial and so we decided to take that avenue,” she said. “ … I didn’t actually think it was going to be that big of a deal until we did it.”
Ralph’s company Palmetto Synergistic Research, also called Palmetto Harmony, sells hemp-based products and is the first to air national advertisements of products derived from the cannabis plant.
“It’s actually really nice,” she said. “ … All I’ve wanted to do is make people realize…this is not something to be demonized.”
