If you never thought you’d see the day when marijuana ads were aired on national television, well, that day is here. On Monday, November 20, the first national TV ad campaign for a hemp-based CBD oil was aired on 71 local affiliates for the ABC, NBC, CBS, and Fox networks, according to South Carolina’s WBTV.
The distinction of running the ad goes to South Carolina-based CBD oil manufacturer Palmetto Harmony. You can see the 30-second Palmetto Harmony TV ad here, and it’s currently running in 71 local markets on a six-month campaign that will run the ads 225 times per week.
Unsurprisingly, the ad never mentions the words “cannabis,” “marijuana,” or “CBD.”
“We are excited about being the first to take this leap into the national arena,” Palmetto Synergistic Research CEO Janel Ralph. “The approval process was multilayered and took many months to complete, but national placement is a significant recognition for an American industry worth $7 billion today and, according to Forbes, expected to grow to $24 billion by 2025.”
