Accused rapist and ultrapopular South Florida rapper Kodak Black live-streamed his own arrest last week. A masked squad from the Broward County Sheriff’s Office descended on his Pembroke Pines mansion as Black and a large entourage of friends, including Black’s own toddler — named King Khalid — hung out in a bathroom filled with pot smoke. Black’s friends live-streamed via Instagram as BSO deputies raided the home, where police say they found 94.9 grams of pot and a stolen Beretta handgun in Black’s closet. The rapper was eventually arrested on seven felony charges, including grand theft, illegal possession of a handgun as an ex-felon, child endangerment, and cannabis possession.
Black, whose real name is Dieuson Octave, is now right back where he spent the majority of 2015 to 2017 — locked inside the Broward Sheriff’s Office main jail in Fort Lauderdale. But his lawyers have filed a brief to get Kodak out on bond, claiming too many people hang out in his home to definitively say who owned the 96 grams of weed and stolen Beretta that were found in his closet.
