Authorities arrested a man in Summerville Thursday night in connection with a 2016 homicide.
Brandon Grayer was charged with murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, first-degree burglary and kidnapping, said Spencer Pryor, a North Charleston police spokesman.
Grayer is accused of taking part in a September 2016 shooting in North Charleston’s Liberty Hill neighborhood that left 47-year-old Ivan Greene dead.
Authorities caught up to Grayer, a 29-year-old resident of Bailey Drive in North Charleston, around 11 p.m. Thursday, according to an incident report and court records.
Charleston County sheriff’s deputies, U.S. marshals and other authorities responded to Waters at Magnolia Bay Apartments in Summerville, 10765 U.S. Highway 78, and found Grayer in apartment 1212, according to the report.
Officers could smell an odor “consistent with marijuana” coming from the apartment and took Grayer into custody, the report said. Authorities found narcotics and a firearm during a search of the residence.
