On Dec. 10, Jared Lee Stargell, 29, Covington, was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence, obstruction, possession of marijuana, DUI, possession of an open alcohol container and failure to maintain lane. According to reports, officers were called to a single car incident on Interstate 20 and found Stargell standing next to the driver’s door to a vehicle in the median. Reports state that while officers spoke with Stargell he was “unable to focus on the tasks given and was stumbling to the point he nearly fell down…” Officers also observed that Stargell was allegedly chewing on a small amount of marijuana while speaking with officers. Officers located a small amount of suspected marijuana in a pill bottle in the vehicle. They also found a nearly empty bottle of Jack Daniel’s in the vehicle.
On Dec. 9, Shauntia Norfleet Dorsey, 31, Hephzibah, was arrested and charged with speeding, following too closely, reckless driving and possession of marijuana, less than an ounce.
