400 block of Shepard Road, Mansfield – A man told police Friday an unknown individual contacted him over the phone, stating that he could help him build his credit. The 72-year-old man gave the caller his personal information and later worried that he could be getting scammed. The victim said he went to the bank to check on his Social Security check and discovered the check had been routed to a different bank. He went to the Social Security office and they were unable to tell him where the check had been set. He was advised by officers a report would be on file.
West Fourth Street, Mansfield – Officers conducting a traffic stop Friday smelled a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle. The 26-year-old man was issued a summons on a charge of possession of marijuana and released. He was cooperative and directed officers to where the marijuana was located in the vehicle.
