Police continue to search for a man accused of targeting women near University of South Carolina campus. His name is Farris Kaloti and authorities say he’s offering rides to young women. Campus police are urging students to be on the lookout for him. Records show the 28-year-old has a long criminal history.
According to police, Kaloti offered a ride to a 21-year-old woman and 18-year-old woman near campus late last month, but refused to bring them where they wanted to go and wouldn’t let them out of the car. According to a USC police report one of the women had to be taken to a hospital after the incident.
In October, Kaloti was arrested in Newberry County and charged with giving false information to a police officer, posession of marijuana and obtaining signatures under false pretenses. Students have noticed more of a police presence since the alert about Kaloti went out.
