The Unified Drug Enforcement Strike Team has dismantled five drug organizations and arrested nearly 100 people in a months-long operation aimed at stemming the supply of drugs coming in and out of Marion County.
During four days this month — Dec. 12 to 15 — drug agents arrested more than a dozen people, charging some with sale of heroin. Agents raided various places in Ocala and in the county. They confiscated 29 firearms, some of them stolen, along with 1.89 kilograms of marijuana, 26 grams of heroin, six grams of black tar heroin, 131 grams of crack cocaine, 2.11 pounds of powder cocaine, 80 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 249 grams of MDMA, 22 grams of synthetic marijuana and prescription pills.
