LEBANON — A South Carolina man is facing multiple charges following an attempted robbery, a car chase through several towns and a manhunt that ended Thursday morning in Lebanon.
According to Lebanon Police Chief Richard Mello, around 9:46 p.m. Wednesday officers responded to Dartmouth College Highway to assist members of the Enfield and Canaan police departments, along with New Hampshire state police, who were pursuing a vehicle headed into Lebanon. Police believed he was possibly connected to an attempted robbery at the Family Dollar store on Route 4 in Enfield.
Upon arrival, Lebanon police determined the suspect abandoned the vehicle on Laplante Road and fled into the woods on foot.
Officers from Lebanon, Enfield, Plainfield, Canaan, Hanover and the New Hampshire state police launched a manhunt for the suspect overnight into early Thursday, which included Lebanon police K9 units and a state police airwing unit.
Around 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Lebanon police were notified of a suspicious male walking along Hanover Street. Officers responded and identified the man as Michael
