(AP) — GAFFNEY, S.C. — A 26-year-old man has been charged with reckless homicide after a wreck in Cherokee County that killed his 2-year-old daughter and injured two other children.
Multiple media outlets reported that Curtis Gray McCraw ran off the road Tuesday afternoon before hitting a sign, a trash can and a tree.
Coroner Dennis Fowler said Sadie Danielle McCraw of Spartanburg was in a booster seat in the back seat. She was taken to a hospital where she died.
The solicitor’s office said Curtis McGraw used marijuana before the wreck.
Authorities think McCraw was driving about 65 mph where the speed limit was 45 mph.
A state trooper said he had stopped McCraw for speeding on the same road earlier in the day.
It was not clear if he has an attorney.
