Almost $10,000 in cash, a vehicle and a large quantity of suspected marijuana were seized Tuesday afternoon following an investigation by Pine Bluff Police Vice and Narcotics detectives.
Toure Dorn, 24, of Grapevine, had been under surveillance by detectives after they received information that he was selling marijuana by the pound. According to a probable cause affidavit from Pine Bluff Police Detective Michael Battles, Lt. Marcus Smith and Battles saw Dorn driving a 2005 green BMW on the Martha Mitchell Expressway and followed the vehicle to Econo Lodge, where he entered a room carrying a red backpack and a black vacuum sealer.
Battles reported that Dorn stayed in the room for about 30 minutes carrying the backpack while other detectives conducted surveillance. Battles and Smith then followed the car driven by Dorn and conducted a traffic stop when they saw Dorn drive left of center.
When they approached the car, detectives reported a very strong odor of suspected marijuana, and after asking Dorn to step out, searched the vehicle. The red backpack contained three
